I urge you to provide prayers for COVID 19 patients fighting for their lives, we must start working together instead of fighting. The United States is more divided than ever in my entire lifetime, so isn’t it about time we start acting like adults instead of little children?
The Power Of Prayer
Like many of you, I once was not one who believed in the power of praying, and what it took for me to open my eyes and heart was when I woke up one day with autoimmune disease. Even after I became so ill I had to give up my career, I still fought the idea of adding prayers into my life. Like many people, I also did not start to form a relationship with God until I was desperate for a miracle in my life. Now, this is a part of my daily routine, and on my worse days, I might speak with him several times asking him for strength and wisdom. I urge you to give this a try, and you also will find out in time this is well worth your time.
“True prayer is neither a mere mental exercise nor a vocal performance. It is far deeper than that — it is a spiritual transaction with the Creator of Heaven and Earth” (Charles Spurgeon).Heather Riggleman Crosswalk.com Contributing Writer
How Prayer Changed My Life
I must admit I am in no way a religious person by any means, you will find me rarely attend any church services most Sundays. So I did give going to services a try for about a year, and I tried almost every one of them in my town in Pennsylvania. You must understand God does not condemn anyone for this, and everyone has to find what works the best for them. I prefer to read the bible and provide prayers for COVID 19 patients in the privacy of my home, You will also find me reading inspirational books or listening to audiobooks, and I highly recommend you start out in the privacy of your home to form a loving relationship with God. So I am going to share with you how prayer has changed my life, and you can be sure I am praying for all of you to be safe and healthy during this crisis we are living in.
- Love For Others
These are just a handful of ways adding this to my life has changed my life for the good, I once was extremely anxious and depressed. Today, I am positive and devoting my time to helping others through this website. I have experienced an improvement in my physical and my emotional health through my relationship with God, and now when things are going bad I put my problems in his hands. I can honestly say everything just naturally works out for the best for me these days, and I am never negative or depressed no matter how bad things seem to be.
“Truly, I say to you, whatever you bind on earth shall be bound in heaven, and whatever you loose on earth shall be loosed in heaven. Again I say to you, if two of you agree on earth about anything they ask, it will be done for them by my Father in heaven. For where two or three are gathered in my name, there am I among them.”
Relationships With God
Many people put too much stress on themselves when they first decide to add prayer to their daily lives, but there is no right or wrong way to talk to God. You don’t need to even know any of the bible verses to start a relationship with him, and all you have to do is talk to him like you would anyone else. The simple act of thanking him when a miracle happens in your life to solve a problem you are facing is more than enough, and I never ask God for physical things that just in my mind is not what our relationship is all about. So maybe some of you are interested in this, but you just don’t know how to get started?
The Ten Commandments
All you need to do is start talking to God, so making time for him is the key to getting started. You don’t even have to read the bible, but I do recommend you read the ten commandments and start doing your best to follow them. When you do slip up as we all do, you will not be punished just admit to God you messed up and you will be forgiven. Even the most dedicated Christians lose their temper at times, and we all say things that we don’t really mean when anxiety and stress get the best of us. So learning the ten commandments and doing your best to follow them is a very good way to get started, and make the time to talk to him regularly about what is on your mind and in your heart is easier than you might think right now?
- “I am the Lord your God, who brought you out of the land of Egypt, out of the house of bondage. You shall have no other gods before Me.
- “You shall not make for yourself a carved image or any likeness of anything that is in heaven above, or that is in the earth beneath, or that is in the water under the earth; you shall not bow down to them nor serve them. For I, the Lord your God, am a jealous God, visiting the iniquity of the fathers on the children to the third and fourth generations of those who hate Me, but showing mercy to thousands, to those who love Me and keep My Commandments.
- “You shall not take the name of the Lord your God in vain, for the Lord will not hold him guiltless who takes His name in vain.
- “Remember the Sabbath day, to keep it holy. Six days you shall labor and do all your work, but the seventh day is the Sabbath of the Lord your God. In it, you shall do no work: you, nor your son, nor your daughter, nor your male servant, nor your female servant, nor your cattle, nor your stranger who is within your gates. For in six days the Lord made the heavens and the earth, the sea, and all that is in them, and rested the seventh day. Therefore the Lord blessed the Sabbath day and hallowed it.
- “Honor your father and your mother, that your days may be long upon the land which the Lord your God is giving you.
- “You shall not murder.
- “You shall not commit adultery.
- “You shall not steal.
- “You shall not bear false witness against your neighbor.
- “You shall not covet your neighbor’s house; you shall not covet your neighbor’s wife, nor his male servant, nor his female servant, nor his ox, nor his donkey, nor anything that is your neighbor’s.”
As you read the ten commandments you will notice that they are commonsense, and the majority of people do try to be a good person and naturally want to follow these in their daily lives. So just making it a point to try to follow these more than you are doing now is a good start, and when you sin all you have to do is admit it to God and you will be forgiven. I watched the DVD The Ten Commandments which really helped me understand more clearly, so if you are a visual learner this might benefit you as well?
Prayers For Children With COVID
The first prayers I want to share with you is for the children, and many of you might be misled thinking your children are immune to this virus. There are kids who have weak immune systems today, so they are at high-risk to become infected and even could lose their lives. So open your heart as you read these, and help God heal our children who are ill. Parents and grandparents are in need of your prayers for COVID 19 patients, and I urge you to provide them the power of prayer with an open heart.
You know right now things feel scary.
We are worried, and my child does not feel well.
But even now, we know we are not alone.
Love surrounds us like warm blankets.
Hope is still there, even when we can’t always see it.
Everywhere we look, there are doctors and nurses and helpers.
May our hearts be filled with peace instead of worry,
Hope instead of fear,
Thankfulness for all of the helpers, instead of loneliness.
May we hold tight to each other,
believing that even when it is hard and painful, it will get better.
May my child’s body heal just like it should,
and may their pain be gone.
May angels watch over us,
and may we rest in peace and hope.
I love this little one with my whole heart,
and I know that you do too.
Please help us both to remember that
even though we can’t see you with our eyes,
we can feel you with our hearts.
Please take away any pain or fear that they may be feeling.
Bring them healing and comfort.
May they know how loved they are by You,
and by me, and by all our family and friends.
The next prayer I am going to share is for any parents or grandparents who have lost a child due to the COVID virus, and my heart is breaking for all the families who have lost loved ones especially children.
In this time of sacred, heart-breaking mystery,
we give thanks for this precious life
now to be held in the protective arms of God.
May the Divine presence and light,
surrounding (child’s name) bring peace,
and may that same Presence also give
strength and courage
to those who will hold this child forever in their hearts.
Praying For The Patients In The Hospitals
Now let us all read the prayers below and open our hearts to those in the hospitals, and these people are all fighting for their lives. Please realize this is no joke or hoax as some people think, we have people really losing their lives to this terrible virus. Since these are for the patients in the hospitals maybe you can read any of these that you like to them, and if not read them and pray for them instead.

In your name, I pray,
Here is one for someone who has joined God in heaven now, and this is something every family should do for anyone who they have lost due to the COVID 19.
I hold up this precious life to you,
Giving thanks for the love that has been given and received.
May they be granted peace, now and forever,
So these are my prayers for patients which I hope some of you will read and open your heart to God, and he does know if your heart is sincere or you are just putting on an act to impress other people and him. I am praying for the entire world to overcome this terrible virus, and I hope some of you will add them in your own prayers as well.
How Prayers Promote Healing
Many people are skeptical that praying can actually provide healing, but when I talk to God about healing people I instantly can feel my anxious feelings and thoughts disappear. So people who are infected who receive your prayers will begin to heal naturally by God’s hand, and as you open your heart to them their bodies begin to become calm which helps them to begin to heal. The more often we all talk to God about the people with this virus the more effective this is, but you must believe and have faith that whatever happens, it is for the best. Below I have shared one that you can use to help your friend who has tested positive, and I hope some of you use some of the prayers I am sharing with you.
Lord Jesus, thank you that You love us. I know that You hate what this illness is doing to my loved one. I ask, in the name of Jesus, that You would heal this disease, that You would have compassion and bring healing from all sickness.
