In 2015, the Federal Trade Commission released its new rules for Disclosure Compliance. These rules are set in place to ensure that readers or viewers of web media (blogs, Youtube videos, etc.) know if the blogger/presenter is sponsored, endorsed, or partnered with a different company. In blog terms, the readers need to know if the blogger is making money by sharing a link or product. You can read my affiliate disclosure by clicking here.

Keyword Strategy For Beginners
I have a new strategy especially for beginners, and this also is good for anyone struggling to receive traffic and sales. It takes time to be seen as an authority in your niche, so this will help you while you are working on that with the search engines.
The Low Hanging Fruit Strategy
These are very low competition words or phrases found with your keyword tool, and similar to the fruit on a small tree the fruit is smaller.
- High abundance of these people are not taking advantage of
- You will experience smaller amounts of traffic
- Easier to rank for on the search engines
- The best strategy for new bloggers
As you write each new post that is another keyword going to bring you in traffic, so the more you write using this method the sooner you will experience the rewards.
No Time Like The Present To Get Started
You want to get started by researching with your favorite research tool, you can use Jaaxy from my website by simply signing up. You will receive 30 free searches, and this is more than enough to get started using this strategy.
- Choose words or phrases with 50 or less competition, and if you can’t find this aim for as close to this as you can.
- Under 100 of competition is awesome, so if you can put in the time to get even less you will experience more success sooner.
- As for traffic, you want to not be too concerned but I would not go less than 30 searches per month.
- Here is a diagram using Jaaxy
You will just type in your niche to get started on your search, and then narrow your words and phrases by the results from Jaaxy. I can usually do this within 2-5 searches, so it really is not time-consuming once you understand how Jaaxy works.
How To Lose Weight And Still Eat
This is the phrase we typed into the search bar of Jaaxy for this article, and I have shared an example of a good word or phrase you would want to use for the how to lose weight niche.
As you can see the QSR which is your competition is under 100, so this is a good one to use. You can keep this keyword and keep researching for even a better one, I always try to get as low as possible for the best ranking.
Writing Your Post Using Your Keyword
Once you have your word or phrase you are ready to write your post, and I am going to provide you a basic guide to help you along the way. You are more than welcome to use this guide, but if you rather not that is up to you.
- The keyword as your title
- Add the word in your first paragraph in bold print
- High-resolution images
- Creating an outline is often helpful for beginners
As tempting as it is to go for those high traffic keywords, you are able to get thousands of visitors with this strategy. Writing content that is interesting, helpful, and with eye-catching images is the key to getting a good ranking
Remember Your Image Tags
Don’t forget to add your keyword to your alt tags for every image you insert, and you can do this for the title as well. Some people prefer to use their domain URL in their title, so that is up to you if you wish to do the same?
3 To 6 Months Recommended
You will want to be using this strategy your first three to six months, and that is the average time it takes for search engines to take you seriously. Keep with this and you will start seeing results in a short time, you should try to write and publish a post at least three times per week or more.
Types Of Keywords
Do you know the different types of keywords, and if not maybe you should read this section? This might help some of you understand them better, and the more you understand the more success you are going to experience.
- Short tail keywords
- Medium tail
These are the three types of keywords, so I am going to share a short description of each one for you. This should help you if you are confused, so read below to learn more about these.
Short Tail Keywords
This type of keyword is considered a broad one to two words, you will find they have high searches, but very difficult to rank on the search engines.
Medium Tail Keywords
You will find these contain two to three words, and these are more specific keywords. Easier to rank on the search engines, and are moderately competitive.
These are very specific to a certain topic, they contain more than three words. These are the type I focus on the most, they can take longer to find for beginners. You will notice their searches are usually very low, also they will have less competition than the other types. So long-tail keywords are what you want to be looking for, and as you become more experienced you will be able to find these in much less time.
- Target people looking for specific information
- Seen as less valuable, so fewer people bother using them
- Best keywords for paid advertising since they cost you less
- Every niche benefits by using this type of keyword
- Most valuable in heavy competitive niches just as the making money niche.
Are You Going To Use This Strategy?
Let me know how you do if you start using this strategy, I use this every time I start a new business. Even after you are established these still are worth using from time to time, they are easier to rank and fewer bloggers are bothering with them. Leave me a comment if you have the time, and thank you for reading my article today.
