How Housing Vouchers Can Help Address Rental Crisis-COVID Rent Crisis Tips

Families are in need of help from their governments during COVID-19, and how housing vouchers can help address rental crisis is just one way. This article is going to look at the options that could possibly ease the financial stress from this pandemic. So I urge you to read on to learn more, and you can always count on Free Family Solutions to provide you with solutions to your problems at no cost to you.

Joe Biden Stimulus Relief Package

As we all know President Trump’s administration not only misled American’s about the severity of COVID-19, but they also have failed to provide the people with a stimulus relief package for the holidays. So let us see what Joe Biden would have done if he was our president, we need a president that will take care of all the people not just their wealthy friends.

  • More checks are one thing Joe Biden would have done as your president, but he has not given any figures of how much or how often at this time.
  • Loan forgiveness would be provided for American’s, and this would provide relief for anyone with loans of at least $10,000.00.
  • Student loans are another thing that would be in this relief plan, and right now many college students are not able to continue their education during this pandemic.
  • Increase your employment benefits is another important change that you would have seen, and even though there is not any information on exactly how much it is still more than our current president is doing for the people.
  • An additional $200.00 would be added to anyone receiving social security benefits, and how many seniors are in need of this right now with the high prices of our economy?
  • Small business relief would also be in this plan, so many of you with a small business would not be in as nearly as severe financial stress as you are right now.
  • For anyone who becomes ill from COVID-19, you would be able to apply for emergency sick leave. Since we are supposed to stay isolated for at least 14 days if infected, I know for a fact, you all would benefit from this.
  • You would receive testing, treatment, and a vaccine once available at no cost to you, so this for many of you would be providing proper care despite you might have lost your healthcare insurance.

This is what Joe Biden would provide American’s if he was the President of the United States, so I ask you why has President Trump not done more for you? Read more on how housing vouchers can help address rental crisis, so next, I am going to share with you how people used their stimulus checks.

Prayers For COVID Patients

How American’s Used Their Stimulus Check

How many of you are interested in how other American’s used their $1200.00 stimulus check from the Trump Administration, so if this information would interest you, I have listed this for you below.

  • 45% of American’s saved their stimulus check of $1200.00, so almost half of the people were smart enough to put it back for a rainy day.
  • 31% of the people used the money to pay off debt, and this shows another positive way people took advantage of this stimulus check.
  • 14% according to this poll was in need to use this for their basic living needs, so again they used it wisely and didn’t just throw it away.
  • Only 7% of the people spent this on non-essential needs, and I am sure the majority of these are those who possibly are living with mental health issues.
  • I am very happy to share that 4% donated to worthy organizations, so as you can see very few of you actually wasted your crisis relief.

For those of you who are desperately in need of the second stimulus relief, you might be curious how much you might receive? This will depend on your income according to the article on CNet and the present bill would also consider many other factors such as how many dependents you have. Of course, you know it is much more complicated than this and that is why the Republicans are preventing you from receiving another stimulus relief plan.

Housing Voucher Program

For anyone who rents living on a low-income this could be a solution, and with this program, if you qualify you will pay approximately one-third of your total rent, and the government program will pay your landlord directly their portion of the rent.  So this is a basic guide on how housing vouchers can help address rental crisis, and if you are interested read what I have shared with you below.

  1. First, you must find your local housing agency for more information, and they will provide you with the answers to all of your questions.
  2. You are only eligible if you receive a low-income, and this is to provide families earning very low income to be able to afford a safe place to live.
  3. Once you apply and are accepted into this program, you will receive what they call a housing voucher.
  4. Your next step once you receive your voucher is to start your search for a safe home that is for rent, and you will have to talk to the landlord about this program to see if they will be interested?

This is a very basic guide on this program, but if you are interested in learning more and applying you can find your local housing agency from this website. Many people who are working low paying jobs and even those seniors who are on social security are eligible. So the best thing you can do if you are struggling to pay your rent is to apply, so what do you have to lose?

Attention Renters

It is no secret the majority of families are struggling to pay their rent, but if you are lucky to have a good landlord you might be able to pay them in other ways. The majority of landlords prefer to be paid by cash or personal checks, but today many are also accepting rent via electronic deposit. So these options are fine when you have the cash, but if your landlord will work with you there is another way?

Paying Your Rent With Credit Cards

Even though I don’t recommend you go this route unless you have no other choice, I just learned some landlords are accepting renters to pay them in this way. Many of you might have a Pay Pal account, and if you are able to pay in this manner this is yet another option to talk with your landlord about? The majority of people have Pay Pal accounts for their online transactions, and I also use this method to protect my bank account and credit cards. So if your landlord has or is willing to open an account, you are able to pay your rent to them with this method at least to get by for a while?

Using your PayPal account can be a temporary way to pay your landlord

Open A PayPal Account

The first thing the renter and the landlord both will need a PayPal account, and this is a very easy, free account for both of you if you open personal accounts? Since this is a secure method for you to pay your rent, and for the landlord to get paid it is a good option for both of you. So let us see what you must do to make this work for both of you, so let us open up your accounts.

  1. The first thing you want to do is go to their website, and you will want to be sure the personal account option is chosen. This is the option by default chosen when you go on their website, but I suggest you double-check just to be safe before going any further.
  2. Once you click continue, you will be required to fill in your personal information. This will be your address and your email contact information, and then click continue and you are ready to add your bank account or your credit card information. I prefer to use my credit card instead of my bank information, and for this purpose, you want to add your credit card since you are going to be paying or receiving rent through PayPal.
  3. As the landlord, you are not required to provide your bank account or credit card unless you wish to, but if you do you will be able to do transactions online instead of using your bank account or credit card information which I strongly recommend.

This is really all that it is to open an account, you will need an email account. You will receive any transactions in your email, and this is a safety precaution to be sure your payment was received by your landlord. This also benefits the landlord to know their rent was paid, so this is a very good option for both parties. For those of you who prefer a step-by-step, I have taken the time to insert their video to guide you step-by-step.

United States Grant Application

Grants are provided for billions of people and organizations every year in the United States, but most of us including me are not aware these even exist. A grant is free money you are not required to pay back, so that is the reason I chose grants, and right now most of you reading this article needs the information to apply for these just to survive. So you might be thinking what are the types of grants available, and I have listed them below.

  • Personal
  • Business
  • Education
  • Community
  • Real Estate

Now that you know the types of grants available, I am going to provide you a basic guide on how the process works.

  1. Fill out your registration, and all your information is secure according to the USA Grant Application website.
  2. What grants to apply for information, so this will save you time applying for those that you are eligible for.
  3. How to apply for the grants you are eligible for, so this will also save you time and also help you to be approved.
  4. Receive the money you are entitled to, so if applying for government grants interests you, I am providing a link to take you to the website below.

This is a time when we must do whatever we can just to survive, so please don’t be too proud to apply for grants if you are really struggling. Many families are experiencing a hunger crisis in the United States, so reach out and take advantage of any assistance you can find until you get back on your feet.

Learn More About USA Grants

For anyone who is interested in going straight to the form to apply for grants, you can start the process by filling out the form using the link provided in this paragraph. The government gives out billions of dollars every year in grants, but much of that money is never received simply because the government does not advertise this to the public. So only those who search for these are going to receive them, and I am proud to provide you this information so you also can benefit from these government grants.

Helpful Books For Applying For Grants

I also thought these books might be helpful for some of you applying for grants for the very first time, so I have listed some books that you might find useful in your search for applying for money you don’t have to pay back.

These are just a handful of books that are highly recommended for those of you who never applied for government grants before, and I recommend you check out the step-by-step books they always are the ones I choose for myself.

How Housing Vouchers Can Help Address Rental Crisis

I chose this article and the information because I really want to help you, and I am very disappointed in our government for not providing the assistance the people require during the COVID-19. I am not registered as a democrat or republican, I am an independent simply because I believe there are good and bad in both of the parties. When the government divides the people this makes our country vulnerable, and right now that is what our country is during this pandemic.

Best Places To Shop For Vegan Food-Grocery Shopping Store Tips

I decided to provide some food grocery shopping tips in this article, and with the high prices where are the best places to shop for vegan food? Being limited to what I am able to eat due to allergies and intolerances I understand the stress people are under, and where I live there are no special shops for anyone on this type of diet.

Going Vegan Step-By-Step

I must admit I have tried many times to go totally vegan, but I find my body just craves meat from time to time. So for anyone who is interested in how to start this type of lifestyle, I have provided you a step-by-step plan. Before I begin this process I would like you to understand my own special diet, and that is no grains of any kind plus no dairy products can be put into my body. It just is not worth the symptoms to cheat, so when you decide or must go on any type of special eating plan it is not as easy as you might think?

  1. When I had to change my own diet, I did a major food clean up. You will want to take everything that will not be a part of your new diet out of your home, and what I did was gave them away to my neighbors and donated some to the local churches.
  2. You will find the majority of what you don’t want to eat any longer will be your processed foods, so those are the first ones I recommend you start with. These are also known to contribute to many health problems, and they also contain animal products that are not in a vegan diet.
  3. The next thing that you really need to do is to ask yourself why I want to change what I am putting into my body, and most of us will answer this question with to be healthier. Many people choose this type of lifestyle because of their love for animals, so both of these are very popular reasons people choose this type of meal plan.
  4. What you want to focus on are plant-based food groups, but if you are like me and are not able to eat grains this makes this change much more challenging.
  5. For many of us easing into the vegan diet is our best strategy, I have tried many times to change completely overnight and every time I have failed. So if you are a breakfast person start by adding a plant-based breakfast to get started, and for those of you who don’t do this meal start with your first meal of the day to be totally plant-based.
  6. Once you are able to make your first meal without any cravings, you will then want to add the second meal of your day to be plant-based as well.
  7. You will also want to start eating snacks as well that are within your new diet plan, so the key is to ease gradually into a special diet whenever it is possible to avoid super cravings. With my change that was not possible and the reason was that my allergy and intolerance foods were making me extremely sick.
  8. Whenever you are ready you can eliminate all animal products completely, but I have never been able to do this myself. My diet consists of mainly some vegetables and fruits, and as animal products go I am forced to go with grass-fed meats.
  9. If you do like me happen to fall off the wagon and give in to non-vegan, you really need to just get back on track and not give in completely as I always do.

So now you have a step-by-step plan if you are serious about making such a drastic change, and if you decide to follow this plan I wish you the best. Since this might be new to many of you I have a plant-based food list, so this might help some of you to stick to your new diet plan?

Plant-Based Beginner Recipes

Before I provide you the best places to shop for vegan food, I want to share what you can choose from on this type of diet. So next we are going to see the plant-based foods you can choose from, and if you are a fan of vegetables and fruits you just might be able to content on the foods below.

  • Unless you have any allergies to certain vegetables, you have your choice of the ones you enjoy to eat. I do the best with salads, and if you are a fan of salads this is a good way to stick to your plan. I also eat quite a bit of home-made soups, and they are easy to prepare if you use a slow cooker.
  • If you can eat whole grains these will help fill you up, but as I shared I am not able to digest grains of any kind very well. Even gluten-free, I can only get away with eating small amounts in moderation.
  • Legumes are another good choice for soups, but you can eat them alone if you prefer.
  • Plant-Based protein sources such as tofu and tempeh are your best choices.
  • Nuts and nut butters are another good protein choice, but eating them in moderation is the best to maintain your weight.
  • Seeds are a good snack choice for those of you who like them, I do like to munch on sunflower seeds from time to time.
  • All the fruit food groups are on your list as well, and again as long as you have no allergies or intolerances to any of them.
  • Oils you want to be sure to stick with plant-based, and I use olive oil which is a healthy fat.
  • To improve your meals you will want to start experimenting with herbs and spices, and both of these are very healthy for you.

So this is my guide to get you started, and if you are going on this to be healthier I recommend you avoid any of the nut butter with artificial ingredients. Read the next paragraph for the best nut butter brands to purchase, and I thank you for reading the best places to shop for vegan food. I encourage you to share this article if you find it helpful with your family and friends, and if you wish to leave me any comments I would be happy to hear from you.

Are There Health Risks Being A Vegan?

Many people worry if a plant-based diet is actually healthy, and depending on the article you read you could become very confused? According to  Clean Eating Kitchen, there are risks you need to be aware of. So let us just see what risks their article suggests we should consider, and I have listed them below for your convenience.

  • The first risk they provide in their article is that legume protein might increase your chances of experiencing the leaky gut syndrome. I for one am not able to eat these, but my problem is my digestive system can’t digest them properly.
  • The next one they share is that soy protein can cause you hormone problems, so let us see what they tell us next?
  • Some people on this type of diet are experiencing anemia, but I have been anemia my entire life despite I was not on a vegan diet?
  • What would you think if I told you that this diet could cause you to become depressed, I do know that what we put into our bodies can cause many health problems but I am not sure if I believe this diet is the cause of depression or not?
  • Vitamin B12 deficiency is another risk they claim, so if you are living this lifestyle maybe you will need to add vitamins and supplements to your diet? I am deficient in vitamin D and vitamin B12, but this is also common with anyone with autoimmune diseases.
  • You also according to this article you could become low zinc as well, and the reason they say is being a vegan prevents you from being able to absorb zinc?
  • This diet they are saying can provide you too many carbohydrates, and this can lead to fatty liver disease.
  • Lastly, this diet could cause you to develop an eating disorder by the name of Orthorexia.

I am not sure I am convinced a plant-based diet is the cause of the health issues in the article, and that is because with an autoimmune disease I experience some of these problems despite I am not on a vegan diet.

best places to shop for vegan food
Salads and soups are my main meals with a little turkey or chicken

I am having problems accepting what the article on Clean Eating Kitchen has provided, and the main reason is at one time people lived mainly on a plant-based diet. So what I think is our immune systems are just messed up from the chemicals in our products and processed foods, and I am not a medical expert just sharing my own opinion.

Best Places To Shop For Vegan Food

Since my diet consists of about 70% vegan food and 30% grass-fed meat, I do the majority of my shopping at my local Aldi’s store. Now if you shop online you will find more of a variety of places to shop, but for where I live in Pennsylvania Aldi is my best choice.  I can find the freshest fruit and vegetables here instead of Walmart or Shop n Save, and those are really my only choices where I am living. So if you are interested in vegan meal delivery services, I have listed what is supposed to be your best choices below?

  • Sun Basket
  • Favorite Vegan Dish
  • HelloFresh
  • Green Chef

Now, these are the recommended vegan meal delivery services you should consider first. I for one could not afford to go with this type of vegan meal choice, so that is the reason I shop the most at Aldi’s. I have found over the years if you are on a special diet your most affordable option is to prepare your own meals at home, and vegan meals are very easy to prepare simply by buying yourself a slow cooker. You just throw in your ingredients and allow the slow cooker to do the work for you. I rarely use my stove to prepare my meals, so this is something I highly recommend you give a try.

How COVID Is Affecting Students

I know for a fact my niece who was in 10th grade last year was passed to 11th grade this year, but what concerns me is she actually missed out on an entire year of school due to this pandemic we are living in right now. So how is this affecting our children’s education might be something some of you are curious about as well, and here is what the article from Brookings Education has to say.

  • Students could possibly be behind if their parents didn’t take their education in hand at home, and the majority of the children are expected to be behind in Mathematics. So it is advised that schools need to do academic testing to evaluate where each student is in their education levels, but I am sure many schools like in my rural area will only do this if it is mandatory by law.
  • This article also suggests that individualized learning programs might be a good idea, and the reason for this is they are predicting all the students in the same grade level will not be at the same academic level after missing so much school.
  • Catching up students is going to be a real challenge for educators, and in my state of Pennsylvania, many of the schools opened and now are shut down again due to the increase of the COVID virus spreading once again.

I have only provided you the main points of this article, but if you are interested in reading the entire article you can click on the link below.

The Impact Of COVID On Students

The Symptoms To Watch Out For

Some of your children might experience some of the symptoms when going back to school, and for parents and grandparents to be aware of the warning signs will tell us we need to get them help. so this article is not only about supporting your mental health during school return, but I am also concerned about your children’s health as well.

  • Irritability
  • Sadness
  • Fear
  • Nightmares
  • Anxiety
  • Worrying
  • Angry
  • Tantrums
  • Frustration
  • Alcohol Abuse
  • Drug Abuse
  • Isolating
  • Hearing Voices
  • Seeing Things That Are Not There
  • Lack of Concentration
  • Struggle to Stay Focused
  • Talking About Death
  • Suicidal Thoughts and Feelings
  • Harming Pets
  • Being Abusive to Siblings
  • Destructive Behavior
  • Sleep Routine Changes
  • Appetite Changes
  • Loss of Interests and Activities
  • Poor Academic Performance in School

This is a very large list that every child is not going to experience, so to help parents and grandparents I have listed the most serious warning signs that tell you the child is in need of help.

  • Nightmares and sleep routine changes are serious signs something is not right, and this can be sleeping way too much or even not being able to sleep enough.
  • If you start to notice your child seems to be excessively anxious this is another warning for parents and grandparents, and the sooner you get them treatment the better.
  • Alcohol and drug abuse is a sure sign your child is having emotional problems, and this really needs to be addressed as soon as possible.
  • Hearing voices and seeing things can be scary, and they often will not tell their family thinking they might be going crazy.
  • If you notice they are struggling to concentrate and stay focused on their studies or even things they used to enjoy doing it is time to get them to a professional.
  • Anyone of any age who starts to talk about death is possibly going to become suicidal if they don’t get treatment. so this I would say is really the most serious symptom you want to take seriously and seek treatment immediately.

In my own opinion, these are the most severe warning signs for parents and grandparents to watch out for. But if your child is experiencing more than a few of the symptoms on the main list in this article I also would advise you to seek professional guidance.

Never Hesitate To Ask For Help

What Parents Are Saying

How many of you are curious about what the parents and grandparents are saying about how the COVID is affecting their children and grandchildren, I for one am very interested in this topic and I feel it is my duty to share this information with you. Here is a U.S. assessment provided by News Gall Up, so here is what their poll has shown.

How long can you follow social distancing practices and business/school closures before your child’s emotional or mental health suffers?

29% of United States families shared in this study that their children are already experiencing emotional health issues due to being out of social situations such as school. People are not meant to be solitary for the majority of the people, and even loners do some socializing even if it is only when they go out for groceries.

How much of a challenge [has been separated from classmates and teachers] been in terms of remote/distance learning for your [oldest/youngest] child?

45% of the parents with children already experiencing emotional problems share that being separated from their classmates has been a major challenge for their child.

I have only provided you the statistics from parents with children that are already being affected, and you can read all the statistics by visiting their website.

Talking To Children About COVID

COVID In Pennsylvania

The part of Pennsylvania I live in has been very lucky when it comes to this virus, and even though the schools have been closed the children in my neighborhood seem to be doing just fine. The majority of the kids are playing outdoors most days, and even though I don’t agree with their parents the children seem to be happy and doing very well. The virus is becoming more severe where I live as well, but still, the children are out playing like there is nothing wrong. What bothers me, even more, is every time I go to the store for groceries there are people not wearing masks. Even if they don’t feel the masks do any good, I feel they still should wear them to protect the rest of us who are wearing masks as a safety precaution. As everyone knows wearing masks is a very serious issue right now in our country, but I don’t see what harm it does to wear a mask when you go out in public? We just don’t know enough about this to know if they do or don’t make any difference, but I would think parents and grandparents would at least be wearing masks on their children?

Pray for people who are infected with COVID-19

Jesus, during Your ministry on Earth You showed Your power and caring by healing people of all ages and stations of life from physical, mental, and spiritual ailments. Be present now to people who need Your loving touch because of COVID-19. May they feel Your power of healing through the care of doctors and nurses.

Take away the fear, anxiety, and feelings of isolation from people receiving treatment or under quarantine. Give them a sense of purpose in pursuing health and protecting others from exposure to the disease. Protect their families and friends and bring peace to all who love them.

Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God.—Philippians 4:6 (NIV)

Natural Alternatives For Mild Depression

I am one of those people who have had a very negative experience with prescription medications, so I prefer to give natural alternatives a try before giving in to medication. I have been able to manage my mild depression naturally, but some of us might need more than this type of treatment, So what I recommend is you consult with your physician, and just ask him or her what they recommend.

I use St John Wort as needed for when I feel I need something for depression, but I don’t take this every day. You will want to avoid Chamomile if you have an allergy to ragweed, I tried this once, and I had an asthma attack so be very careful taking it.
