Best Places To Shop For Vegan Food-Grocery Shopping Store Tips

I decided to provide some food grocery shopping tips in this article, and with the high prices where are the best places to shop for vegan food? Being limited to what I am able to eat due to allergies and intolerances I understand the stress people are under, and where I live there are no special shops for anyone on this type of diet.

Going Vegan Step-By-Step

I must admit I have tried many times to go totally vegan, but I find my body just craves meat from time to time. So for anyone who is interested in how to start this type of lifestyle, I have provided you a step-by-step plan. Before I begin this process I would like you to understand my own special diet, and that is no grains of any kind plus no dairy products can be put into my body. It just is not worth the symptoms to cheat, so when you decide or must go on any type of special eating plan it is not as easy as you might think?

  1. When I had to change my own diet, I did a major food clean up. You will want to take everything that will not be a part of your new diet out of your home, and what I did was gave them away to my neighbors and donated some to the local churches.
  2. You will find the majority of what you don’t want to eat any longer will be your processed foods, so those are the first ones I recommend you start with. These are also known to contribute to many health problems, and they also contain animal products that are not in a vegan diet.
  3. The next thing that you really need to do is to ask yourself why I want to change what I am putting into my body, and most of us will answer this question with to be healthier. Many people choose this type of lifestyle because of their love for animals, so both of these are very popular reasons people choose this type of meal plan.
  4. What you want to focus on are plant-based food groups, but if you are like me and are not able to eat grains this makes this change much more challenging.
  5. For many of us easing into the vegan diet is our best strategy, I have tried many times to change completely overnight and every time I have failed. So if you are a breakfast person start by adding a plant-based breakfast to get started, and for those of you who don’t do this meal start with your first meal of the day to be totally plant-based.
  6. Once you are able to make your first meal without any cravings, you will then want to add the second meal of your day to be plant-based as well.
  7. You will also want to start eating snacks as well that are within your new diet plan, so the key is to ease gradually into a special diet whenever it is possible to avoid super cravings. With my change that was not possible and the reason was that my allergy and intolerance foods were making me extremely sick.
  8. Whenever you are ready you can eliminate all animal products completely, but I have never been able to do this myself. My diet consists of mainly some vegetables and fruits, and as animal products go I am forced to go with grass-fed meats.
  9. If you do like me happen to fall off the wagon and give in to non-vegan, you really need to just get back on track and not give in completely as I always do.

So now you have a step-by-step plan if you are serious about making such a drastic change, and if you decide to follow this plan I wish you the best. Since this might be new to many of you I have a plant-based food list, so this might help some of you to stick to your new diet plan?

Plant-Based Beginner Recipes

Before I provide you the best places to shop for vegan food, I want to share what you can choose from on this type of diet. So next we are going to see the plant-based foods you can choose from, and if you are a fan of vegetables and fruits you just might be able to content on the foods below.

  • Unless you have any allergies to certain vegetables, you have your choice of the ones you enjoy to eat. I do the best with salads, and if you are a fan of salads this is a good way to stick to your plan. I also eat quite a bit of home-made soups, and they are easy to prepare if you use a slow cooker.
  • If you can eat whole grains these will help fill you up, but as I shared I am not able to digest grains of any kind very well. Even gluten-free, I can only get away with eating small amounts in moderation.
  • Legumes are another good choice for soups, but you can eat them alone if you prefer.
  • Plant-Based protein sources such as tofu and tempeh are your best choices.
  • Nuts and nut butters are another good protein choice, but eating them in moderation is the best to maintain your weight.
  • Seeds are a good snack choice for those of you who like them, I do like to munch on sunflower seeds from time to time.
  • All the fruit food groups are on your list as well, and again as long as you have no allergies or intolerances to any of them.
  • Oils you want to be sure to stick with plant-based, and I use olive oil which is a healthy fat.
  • To improve your meals you will want to start experimenting with herbs and spices, and both of these are very healthy for you.

So this is my guide to get you started, and if you are going on this to be healthier I recommend you avoid any of the nut butter with artificial ingredients. Read the next paragraph for the best nut butter brands to purchase, and I thank you for reading the best places to shop for vegan food. I encourage you to share this article if you find it helpful with your family and friends, and if you wish to leave me any comments I would be happy to hear from you.

Are There Health Risks Being A Vegan?

Many people worry if a plant-based diet is actually healthy, and depending on the article you read you could become very confused? According to  Clean Eating Kitchen, there are risks you need to be aware of. So let us just see what risks their article suggests we should consider, and I have listed them below for your convenience.

  • The first risk they provide in their article is that legume protein might increase your chances of experiencing the leaky gut syndrome. I for one am not able to eat these, but my problem is my digestive system can’t digest them properly.
  • The next one they share is that soy protein can cause you hormone problems, so let us see what they tell us next?
  • Some people on this type of diet are experiencing anemia, but I have been anemia my entire life despite I was not on a vegan diet?
  • What would you think if I told you that this diet could cause you to become depressed, I do know that what we put into our bodies can cause many health problems but I am not sure if I believe this diet is the cause of depression or not?
  • Vitamin B12 deficiency is another risk they claim, so if you are living this lifestyle maybe you will need to add vitamins and supplements to your diet? I am deficient in vitamin D and vitamin B12, but this is also common with anyone with autoimmune diseases.
  • You also according to this article you could become low zinc as well, and the reason they say is being a vegan prevents you from being able to absorb zinc?
  • This diet they are saying can provide you too many carbohydrates, and this can lead to fatty liver disease.
  • Lastly, this diet could cause you to develop an eating disorder by the name of Orthorexia.

I am not sure I am convinced a plant-based diet is the cause of the health issues in the article, and that is because with an autoimmune disease I experience some of these problems despite I am not on a vegan diet.

best places to shop for vegan food
Salads and soups are my main meals with a little turkey or chicken

I am having problems accepting what the article on Clean Eating Kitchen has provided, and the main reason is at one time people lived mainly on a plant-based diet. So what I think is our immune systems are just messed up from the chemicals in our products and processed foods, and I am not a medical expert just sharing my own opinion.

Best Places To Shop For Vegan Food

Since my diet consists of about 70% vegan food and 30% grass-fed meat, I do the majority of my shopping at my local Aldi’s store. Now if you shop online you will find more of a variety of places to shop, but for where I live in Pennsylvania Aldi is my best choice.  I can find the freshest fruit and vegetables here instead of Walmart or Shop n Save, and those are really my only choices where I am living. So if you are interested in vegan meal delivery services, I have listed what is supposed to be your best choices below?

  • Sun Basket
  • Favorite Vegan Dish
  • HelloFresh
  • Green Chef

Now, these are the recommended vegan meal delivery services you should consider first. I for one could not afford to go with this type of vegan meal choice, so that is the reason I shop the most at Aldi’s. I have found over the years if you are on a special diet your most affordable option is to prepare your own meals at home, and vegan meals are very easy to prepare simply by buying yourself a slow cooker. You just throw in your ingredients and allow the slow cooker to do the work for you. I rarely use my stove to prepare my meals, so this is something I highly recommend you give a try.

Family Fun Night Ideas For Families-Thanksgiving During COVID 19

As more and more people are becoming sick what is Thanksgiving during COVID 19 going to look like for you, and since many of you are not going to be able to get together during this holiday, I have some family fun night ideas for families. With these possible suggestions, you are able to spend your evening doing fun things. We must not allow this crisis to ruin our health or our holidays.

5 Tips To Stay Healthy This Winter

Celebrating Thanksgiving

Many families like my own will not be spending Thanksgiving together, and for my family and maybe even your own this will be a difficult time for us all. One thing I plan on doing for my mother and my three sons might interest some of you, I am planning on sending them all a gift basket. By doing this, I am allowing my mother and my three sons to know I am thinking of them. So even if you can’t spend the holiday together, we all can let them know they are in our hearts and on our minds. So let us consider what else we can do being separated for the first time on this holiday, and let your loved ones know they are in your hearts is almost like being there with them.

  • Amazon Gift Cards are something my three sons are always happy to receive year-round, so this is another good choice if you really don’t want to send a gift basket.
  • I never go wrong when I order a plant for my mother from Logees, and why I love this website is they provide you with rare plants you will not find at your local Walmart.
  • For seniors or those who live alone, I suggest you consider sending a Thanksgiving Meal. You can choose from many choices, and if you need some ideas here are the 10 Best Thanksgiving Meal Delivery Boxes.
  • Never underestimate the thoughtful gesture of sending a card in the mail, and today you can even do this via email. For your convenience here are some of the better choices, and you might be surprised how much you will brighten someone’s holiday simply by sending them a free e-card to them.
  • Another good choice that comes to my mind is the person’s favorite bottle of wine, so this would be a very thoughtful and personal gift to send someone special for Thanksgiving. If you have never done this before, I suggest you check out the website Wine Country Gift Baskets.

So even though you might be separated from your loved ones this year, I hope some of my suggestions inspire you how you can still make this holiday special for those you love.

You can create this game as well by using a Thanksgiving replacement instead of a hot potato. All you need is a small object such as a symbol for the holiday, you can even make your own little turkey by getting a free printable turkey online.
  • Good Housekeeping provides a unique game called Gratitude A to Z, you start by sharing something you are grateful for starting with the letter A, and the next person does the same only using the letter B, and so on.
  • If you are in the situation to invest a little money, you can purchase this game that goes by the name of POKENO. This is a great choice for families interested in poker and bingo, and you can make it even more fun by providing prizes.

  • The Journal Game will cost you very little, and you can use a regular notebook purchased from your favorite dollar store. The jest of this game is you pass the notebook around, and each person writes one thing that they are thankful for. You then will read what everyone has written, and you try to guess which person wrote each one.
  • Another family fun night ideas for families that come to my mind, you can all start to decorate the homestead for Christmas. Right after Thanksgiving people start getting ready for the biggest holiday of the year, so why not make this a family activity everyone can join in?
  • My last suggestion would be to start baking cookies for Christmas as a family, I don’t know anyone who can’t join in on this. Even the youngest member of the family can be a part of this, and this also includes dear old dad.

I do hope I have provided you some inspiration for things you can do as a family for Thanksgiving, and if you sit down together I know you can come up with even more.

Prayers For COVID 19 Patients-Pray For Those Infected

How To Pray For The World

This crisis we are living in is not just in the United States, and I have added prayers on my own prayer list for every person in the world. I strongly believe every person in every country is a child of God, and we must realize there are good people and bad people in every country including the United States. So let us pray for everyone in the world to survive the COVID-19 crisis, we have already lost way too many lives to this terrible virus.

Pray for the World; Pray for the World ” I urge, then, first of all, that petitions, prayers, intercession, and thanksgiving be made for all people— for kings and all those in authority, that we may live peaceful and quiet lives in all godliness and holiness…” – 1 Timothy 2:1-2

Now for those of you who are not comfortable praying for others, I am sharing some guidance to get you started. Once you form this habit it will become natural for you, but the most difficult part for most people is how to get started?

  • The first step is to open your heart with sincerity for everyone in the world, and you must not think of people in other countries in a negative manner. Forget that they might look different than you, but accept all people wish for the same things in their lives.
  • Secondly, you must make this a regular part of your praying routine, we are people of habits. So as you form this new habit, you will find this will become natural with time and patience.
  • We all need to have faith in the words in our prayers, so allow your heart to speak to God through your prayers.
  • Sincerely provide love to everyone in the world and even those who might do you wrong. Forgiveness might be very difficult for most of us, but this is something we must do to be able to love the world.
  • Many people find prayer requests to be helpful to get started, and you can find many prayer requests online that will cost you nothing.
  • I make it a point to pray for everyone in the world living in an area of disaster, and I really feel God approves of us when we talk to him about our thoughts and feelings for those suffering in the world.

These are how I pray for the people suffering in the world, and I hope by sharing these it helps you also start praying for the people you might not know or ever meet in other countries.

Praying For Others Bible Verses

The following bible verses might also benefit you to get started as well, and as you read these really allow them to enter your heart to get the most from them.

Abraham interceded for the people of Sodom for the sake of his nephew Lot (Genesis 18:23-33). He memorably started by asking if God would spare Sodom if 50 righteous people were there. From there he boldly but humbly asked about 45, 40, 30, 20, and finally 10, and God answered, “I will not destroy it for the sake of ten.” Though God did not find 10, He fulfilled Abraham’s intent by sparing Lot and his family.

Moses pleaded for God’s mercy for the sinning people of Israel (Exodus 32:9-14; Numbers 14:11-20). Moses turned down God’s offer to make a nation out of Moses’ descendants and persuasively begged for God’s mercy for God’s name’s sake.

Daniel begged God for his people (Daniel 9:3-19). Daniel’s passionate and meaningful prayer ends with his plea, “O Lord, hear! O Lord, forgive! O Lord, listen and act! Do not delay for Your own sake, my God, for Your city and Your people are called by Your name”

5 Tips To Help You Stay Healthy This Winter-COVID Virus Family Tips

COVID Winter 2020

This winter could take the lives of more people than any year most of us have experienced and is going to be mainly from the COVID worldwide virus. So 5 tips to help you stay healthy this winter is going to provide families with the best family health information to stay healthy.

Corona Virus Winter Tips

The first tips I am going to share with you were provided by the website Deseret, and this website is a reliable resource according to my domain authority checker tool. So let us see what they have to say about taking care of ourselves this winter during the COVID virus?

  • Even though I have an autoimmune disease I never do their first suggestion, and I am not planning on doing it this year. So they recommend everyone get a flu shot, and I have not received a flu shot for the past 10 years. The last time I got the flu shot, I actually got sick, and I have not been sick the past ten years without getting the injection. I am not telling you not to get this injection, I am just sharing my own experience with you. I am just not comfortable putting these into my own body, but you should consult your physician if you have any concerns.
  • The next one they recommend I strongly agree with, and I do it year-round to stay healthy, and exercise regularly is what they recommend. Even though it does not really matter the type of exercise, I strongly encourage you to choose something that you really enjoy doing. I walk with my dog twice every day, and this is something we both look forward to doing together. I am lucky that there is a nature trail within walking distance of my home, but most of you are more likely not as lucky?
  • The most challenging for many people are socializing, and with the COVID we must be more careful about how we socialize than in the past. I usually talk via phone with my mother regularly, so this is one option for you to consider as well. With the internet you have other options, you can use social media to keep in touch with your family and friends. I am not into online chatting, but this is another option to consider if this is your thing.
  • Reconnecting with friends is their next suggestion, but this more likely should not be done in person. You can do this again by reconnecting on social media and using online chatlines, and due to our situation online and via phone are your best strategies.
  • Working from home is what many of us are doing today, so you might want to make your working area as comfortable as you possibly can.

So according to Deseret you now know their 5 tips to help you stay healthy this winter, so let us see how to cope during the COVID in my next paragraph.

Winter during the COVID this year is going to be challenging for many families

How To Cope During COVID

It has been extremely difficult for the majority of the people to cope during the COVID so far, but it is even more challenging for everyone to deal effectively when we must remain indoors most of the time. So let us see what Global News has to share with us, we all need all the help we can get to manage the situation when winter arrives?

  • Global News suggests what I shared with you above, and that is to take advantage of using online chat to keep in touch with your family.
  • The article also states that phone conversations are a much better choice than emailing and texting, so instead of texting with your phone try using it the old fashion way by calling a friend or family member.
  • Another important thing to remember is you need to have a good support system according to this article, and I know from my own experience how important this is for my own health. I am not fortunate enough to have a good support system, so I only have my mother to keep in touch with regularly.
  • How are we going to celebrate the upcoming holidays is a good question, so how many families are going to get together in large groups indoors despite this is a very bad idea? Instead, you should have small family get-togethers to be safe.

COVID has disrupted the lives of families worldwide, and there does seem to be a higher risk when winter arrives. Actually, the health experts are predicting it to be even worse than in the spring and summer months. There are some reports that depression might be higher this year than other years, so how does someone get support if they start experiencing severe depression and possibly even suicidal thoughts and feelings?

  • Indoor games such as Monopoly is an easy way to spend your time indoors on the coldest days, and you can tell Santa Claus to bring some board games for Christmas.

So I hope my suggestions have you thinking of ways to spend your time indoors as a family, you can always have contests of any kind to get everyone motivated to join in on the fun. Maybe it is time that we go back in time, so ask yourself what did your grandparents do during the coldest time of the year?

30 Fun Indoor Activities For Families

Winter Mental Health Triggers

The best way to stay healthy physically and mentally is to understand what the triggers are,  and this year it is predicted to be much worse with COVID added to our winter triggers. So what is going to contribute to people being more depressed, and I have provided what the experts are saying below.

  • The colder the weather the worse it could be, so if you have a mild winter spend as much time outdoors as you can. Spending too much of your time indoors is the number one trigger for the majority of the people, so even taking short walks every day can do wonders for your mood and health.
  • Socialization or the lack of it is going to be a major trigger this year, so you have to find ways to socialize besides in person. Online is the most convenient method for many people, so if you have a computer or a smartphone socialize this way.
  • Try talking more on the phone to your family and friends, I know many of us text today instead of communicating the old fashion way.
  • Actually, the majority of people experience holiday stress after the holidays. So you need to prepare for after the holiday stress by making a good plan to stay busy, and for families, this is much easier than for someone who lives alone.
  • Adopting a pet could be just what you need to stay healthy during the COVID winter of 2020, you might not be aware of how having a pet companion can make such a dramatic difference in your life. I would feel so lonely if it was not for my Miniature Australian Shepherd, and he does keep me busy by walking and playing with him.

Now is the time to start making a plan for winter, and adding a schedule of family activities is one of your best strategies you could have.

How To Reduce COVID Indoors

The holidays are going to be much different for many families than in the past, you might not be going to travel to grandma’s this year to avoid possibly making her sick or worse? Now we need to join together more than ever, but sadly it seems our country has divided. If you remember any of your history lessons in school, you will recall that when the people divided is when they failed?

Natural Ways To Stay Healthy This Winter-How To Stay Healthy

The summer is sadly over for another year, and now it is time for us to prepare our bodies with natural ways to stay healthy this winter, so you are going to find what works for me and what the experts have to say. With the COVID virus and the flu season, this might be the most important article I have written for you yet? Let us start with my own strategies, and then we will see what others have to share with us?

How I Change My Diet For Winter?

Once the weather starts to become cooler I have had good success by substituting my summer salads with my home-made soup recipes. Before I go any farther, I wish to share with you what are some of the most important benefits of eating soup this time of the year?

  • Vegetables are full of nutrients that naturally improve your immune system, and a strong immune system is our main goal to stay healthy during the cold winters.
  • This is also a great choice to maintain your weight as many of us are less active this time of the year, so you can put a whole lot of soup into your body without gaining a bunch of extra weight.
  • Believe it or not, this is extremely satisfying to your body. Since it contains so much broth it also contains fewer calories, and I find with healthy recipes I rarely experience the flu or colds as many others do.
  • One other reason I love this is they are so easy and convenient to prepare, you just add your favorite vegetables and meat with water. I recommend you purchase a nice size slow cooker, and fill it up with your own home-made soup and freeze some for another day.

So this is my first step to natural ways to stay healthy during this winter, and below I have inserted a link for you with some healthy low-calorie soup recipes.

Healthy Low-Calorie Soup Recipes

Healthy Slow-Cooker Recipes

Some of you might not be into soup despite it is so good for your immune system, so I have taken the time to find some recipes to share with you that might motivate you to give this a try. Soups and salads are two of the best natural ways to boost your immune system, so I urge you to give some of these a try this winter.

Did you know substituting turkey instead of beef is a healthy alternative, I started doing this after reading an article and I have lost some extra weight I was carrying around. So this is yet another way to maintain your weight during the winter months, and at the same time boost your immune system.

Vegetarian Soup Recipes

I have not forgotten those of you who are vegetarian’s in this article, and I do make sure 70% or more of my daily diet is vegetables. You need as many of these as you can put into your body for a healthy immune system, and with the COVID at its most severity this time of the year I suggest you try to eat as many as you can.

I must admit I have never been able to go entirely vegetarian or vegan, but I have really tried over and over again. My problem is I just feel I am missing nutrients my body gets from meat, and I just have never been able to solve the mystery of what alternative will provide my body’s needs?

Immune Boosting Antibacterial Foods

So now I am going to share some of the immune-boosting foods for you to consider, and these are my second tip on natural ways to stay healthy this winter. With the COVID at its worse this time of the year, we really must be eating healthier. Here are some foods you might want to eat more of this time of the year, and I thank you for reading this article with interest to learn how to be healthier.

  • Dark Leafy Greens
  • Brain Food Berries
  • Garlic
  • Onions
  • Ginger
  • Cumin
  • Oregano
  • Cinnamon

So other than the berries and the dark leafy greens, you could add more of these other foods and spices in your home-made soups. As much as these are so good for our immune systems, they also are not consumed by the majority of us nearly enough.

Natural Sleep Tips

Now that you understand the importance of what you put into your body, we now need to learn natural ways to improve your sleep. The majority of people of all ages complain more about their quality of sleep than anything else, so what can we do to improve our sleep is our next goal to work on.

  • Anxiety, stress, and low blood sugar levels are the most common reasons for the majority of sleep problems, and I am no stranger to this myself. In the past, I was lucky if I got 3 hours of sleep before waking up. So a good before-bed snack to give a try is a banana rolled in Himalayan salt, and I also eat a handful of cashews as well.
  • Another sleep problem I had myself was pain from my autoimmune disease, and I just recently read to replace your caffeine with Golden Milk. So this is something you could try yourself if you are a big caffeine addict, I have not tried this myself yet.
  • They say if you drink 8 ounces of tart cherry juice before bed, you will sleep better. Tart cherry juice is claimed to help your body produce more melatonin naturally, so this is another natural sleep tip you can try.
  • Supplements have helped many people able to sleep better, and I have found that Luden’s Melatonin Smoothers relaxes me and helps me fall asleep and able to sleep longer.

So these are some natural sleep tips I urge you to give a try, and I really feel relaxed very quickly when I use the Luden’s Melatonin Smoothers. So this is something that works for me I suggest you give a try, and I would love to hear if they help you sleep better. You can leave me a comment at the end of this article, and I would love to hear from some of you who read natural ways to stay healthy this winter.

What Else Can You Do?

There are many options you can experiment with this winter, you could start doing yoga online by going to YouTube. You can learn just about anything your heart desires on this website, and in fact, I  learned many of the things I am sharing with you in my articles on my website from watching these videos. Below are some things I have tried, and some things I have not tried. You can try any of them to see how they work for you, and trial and error is the only way to find out which works and which ones don’t.

  • Herbal teas are a very good option to try, I am a big herbal tea drinker and these are caffeine-free. I would prefer to drink these beverages hot or cold over the golden milk, but both of these are good choices if they interest you?
  • What about warm apple cider, I have heard sipping this beverage in the evening before bed works for some people?
  • I also find listening to audiobooks to be relaxing for me, but if this does not appeal to you, why not listen to some relaxing music instead?
  • I walk twice per day which really has been a benefit for me, and my Miniature Australian Shepherd keeps me motivated to walk twice every day.
  • Would starting your own blog be something that appeals to you, and if so winter is a great time to start a new hobby. If anyone is interested I am more than willing to help you get started, you just have to leave me a comment so we can get started.

Best Herbal Teas For Your Immune System

Since  I do prefer drinking herbal teas over caffeine beverages, I do happen to know a little about which teas are the best to boost your immune system. So I decided this is important enough to share in this article, and for anyone interested, this will help you choose the best herbal teas for your immune system.

  • Chamomile, but this tea is in the ragweed family so if you have an allergy to ragweed avoid this herbal tea.
  • Green Tea
  • Ginseng
  • Elderberry
  • Licorice

I am allergic to ragweed so Chamomile tea is not an option for me, and the two herbal teas I drink the most are Ginseng and Elderberry. These are good options to start with, and they are natural immune boosters you can trust with your health.

Top Immune Supplement Brands

I am no expert on supplements, so I got this list of the best immune supplement brands for you on the website Consumer Health Organization. So here is what they recommend to be your best choices for 2020, but I want you to know you should consult your physician and have them check your vitamin levels before taking any supplements on your own. Too much can be just as dangerous to your health as being deficient, so be careful about taking any supplements without consulting your physician first.

  • Pure Nature Immunity Complex
  • Immune Protect
  • Now Immune Renew

I am on quite a few supplements because of my autoimmune diseases, but I always consult my physician before adding any new supplements. Even though these can be a dramatic impact on your health, you can also harm yourself by taking them without checking first with your physician.

Best Exercise For Your Immune System

Maybe you are confused as I was about what exercise is the best for you to be doing, and if you happen to have pre-existing health conditions such as me with autoimmune diseases it is even more difficult. So let us see what the Aleteia Organization has to say about this, so read on to learn more.

  • More is not always better, I struggled when first diagnosed with autoimmune disease to exercise. I was stubborn and thought the more I pushed myself the better I would be, but as they are saying pushing yourself often can be worse for you. So you should avoid long strenuous exercise according to this organization, so let us see what else they have to say?
  • Instead of the long strenuous exercise, they recommend short high-intensity exercise instead.
  • It does not matter what type of exercise you choose to do, so I suggest you go for something that you enjoy. I walk with my Miniature Australian Shepherd twice per day, and this seems to be enough for me to stay healthy.
  • You should choose something you can do outdoors, and one of the reasons is the benefit of vitamin D. This natural vitamin from the sun is very important when it comes to the COVID virus, and this is from this organization recommending the information in this section.
  • They end their article by suggesting you choose something you enjoy, and one of their recommendations is using YouTube videos outdoors. So you could give yoga a try, and maybe you don’t like to exercise but you have a passion for dancing? Zumba was one of the recommendations in their article for people who love to dance, so to read this entire article use the link below.

I hope you found this information as interesting and as helpful as I did, and that is the reason I shared the highlights of this article with you.

Natural Ways To Stay Healthy This Winter

I chose this topic because this winter they are predicting the COVID to impact all of our lives, so this year it is more important than ever to take good care of ourselves. I have shared in this blog post some of the ways I take care of myself during the winter, and I also shared information from websites that you can trust with their information as well. Between what I know works for me, and what these websites have shared you have more knowledge than you ever have possibly had in your life?

Food Bank-How To Feed Your Family

Families are in a very difficult situation right now, and many are struggling to pay their living expenses plus feed their children. So I chose this article on the food bank in hopes to help some of you, and I know many of you are feeling desperate right now. How many of you feel President Trump is doing enough for you at this time, I just feel that you should come first before anything else going on right now?

How You Can Help Families?

Maybe you are one of the lucky ones who are in the position to provide assistance to needy families, and now we as American citizens need to pull together and help each other survive. It is no secret the COVID is becoming worse as time goes on, and even President Trump and the White House have become victims of this deadly virus. So I am providing you organizations you are able to donate to, and if this is not something you are comfortable doing you can provide individual families in your community with food or a few dollars now and then.

food bank
Now is the time we must become closer than ever as a country instead of hurting one another

We as a country are dividing instead of becoming closer as it should be, so if you are in the position to help one of your families or more now is the time to do it. You can simply leave a gift basket of food on their front porch, you can even send it via mail if you feel more comfortable doing it this way. It is time we stop thinking of just ourselves, so ask yourself what can I do for my neighbor?

More Ways To Help People?

I have been putting things I really can do without on my street corner for anyone in need, and I simply made a sign stating they are Free. This is just one way I am helping the people in my own neighborhood, and I also donate food to my local food bank every month, so here are some other ways you can help families in your own neighborhood.

  • Food baskets on your neighbor’s doorsteps are one way you can help a family, and being I am on a strict diet I understand that providing a basket of special foods they can eat is a very rewarding thing you can do for your neighbor. So many of us are on gluten-free diets, diabetics, and many other special diets, so if you know anyone like this I urge you to consider doing this if you can.
  • Do you know anyone in your community with an infant, you could send them or leave a case of baby formula for them. You can ask one of their neighbors or family members what brand of formula the baby needs, and you can even order this online and send it to them without leaving your name.
  • What about ordering a baby gift basket from Amazon or even Walmart, you can then have it delivered directly to the person’s home. People are in need of food, but when you provide their other needs you are helping them have more money for their baby?
  • Another priceless gesture for parents with a newborn baby would be diapers, I can remember how many diapers my sons went through so this would save them so much money for other things their baby might need.
  • If you are able to donate to the local Food Bank this is an easy way to help so many people in your community, I know for a fact there are so many people just where I live going to get a monthly box of food more now then ever I have ever known of.
  • Everyone needs clothing and has to eat, so these are the two main needs of everyone. you can also send or leave a gift card for them, and then they can use it for whatever they need the most. These are one of the best choices for a family you don’t know what they really need the most, and even a small gesture would be more appreciated then you can imagine during the COVID crisis we are in right now.

These are just some of the ways I am helping families in my own community, and you can be sure Free Family Solutions really does put people first. This website is my way to help more families, so this is something I am very dedicated to doing every day.

If you have more than you need why not help someone in need

Feeding America

I am sure I am not the only one who never in a million years expected the United States to be in this position, so like myself, none of us were prepared for such a crisis hitting almost overnight.  Feeding America is one organization I highly recommend you visit for assistance before any other, and one of the benefits they provide you is a search box locater for the nearest Food Bank near you. Many of you might have never been in need of this service until now, so if you are having difficulty finding one near you, this is the quickest solution to your problem. Here is some very useful information directly from the Feeding America website, and I am very happy to be able to share this with you.

  • Due to the COVID over 54 million possibly may experience enough food to feed their families, and approximately 18 million of these could be children. No one deserves to go hungry in our country, and with all the wealthy people why are not more of those with money helping the less fortunate today?
  • USDA provided that from their reports more than 25 million in the United States alone struggled in 2019, and I ask you is there any reason for this to be happening in our country?
  • 14.3 million families in the USA experienced struggling to have enough food, so even before the COVID, this problem has existed in this country. So I ask you why are we not joining together to help one another, and why is our government not doing more to solve this problem?
  • This even upsets me even more, I just can’t understand how these families are not eligible for assistance from the government, so I ask you how can our government sleep at night knowing so many families are in need of assistance?

I know myself many of the programs for low-income families has been cut in budget assistance from our government, so again I ask you what kind of people are we electing to run our country that could be so heartless to ignore this problem?

Free Family Solutions Cares About You

My website is not about politics, but I am strongly feeling I need to address the problems happening to the people I am trying to help through this website. I am not a democrat or a republican, but I do live my life by my morals and values. I believe politics and religion should not be who we are as people, so follow your heart and don’t judge others by their politics and their religion. We are all people with the same needs and wants for a good life, and we need to forget about our differences and start focusing on how to solve our problems. It has nothing to do with the color of a person’s skin, and I am ashamed of how America is becoming more and more a racist country than ever before. This is not a website about selling products to my readers, but this is a website determined to focus on helping all my readers find solutions to their problems. So if you have a problem you need assistance with, I urge you to leave me a comment so I can provide you and others the solutions you are in need of. YOU ARE NEVER ALONE WHEN YOU ARE A READER OF FREE FAMILY SOLUTIONS, so I am always here for all of you.

Bible Verses About Giving

Everyone can give in their own way, so I am giving by writing my articles on this website. I donate what little I am able to afford when I can to organizations I strongly believe in, so you can be a big part of making a difference in a person or a family’s life. Why does the majority of us only practice giving mainly on Christmas and special holidays, and why is this not a part of our daily lives? The bible is one of the biggest motivators in my life, and I am not a religious person by any means. I don’t belong to any special church in my community, but going to church does not make you better than someone who does not. Action speaks more than anything else, so can you live with yourself knowing you are well off financially and not doing anything to help the less fortunate in your community? How do you sleep at night, and what about your health? The people who were the most giving in their lives have lived the best lives, and when you do for others it just might be the best medicine for what ails you?

Proverbs 11:25: “The generous person will prosper, and whoever refreshes others will himself be refreshed.”. Meaning: Giving benefits not only the recipient but also the giver. Proverbs 19:17: “The one showing favor to the lowly is lending to Jehovah, and He will repay him for what he does.”.

Proverbs 11:24 states “One gives freely, yet grows all the richer; another withholds what he should give, and only suffers want.” It is righteous to practice generosity with our family, friends, and community as scripture inspires.

Many people think by attending church regularly and offering 10% of their income to their church they are going to heaven, but God knows your true heart and when you are doing things just to make points with him that is not going to make him happy. There are ways to get to heaven without having money in the bank, so listen to your heart and you will be hearing what God has planned for you to do with your life. I have experienced when I do for others, I am much happier than when I do something for myself. So in my opinion the best medicine is not man-made, but simply by doing something nice for someone else without expecting anything in return.

Children With Special Needs

You know people with special needs such as a special diet plan is very difficult to find assistance, and this is an important issue for so many families with a child with food allergies and food intolerances. I for one am gluten and dairy-free, and even though the food banks provide you a box of food each month most of it I am not able to eat. So instead of taking the box, I leave it for someone who can use it more than me. You might not realize I am not a business person, and in fact, I might have less of an income than many of you? This website is my way of being able to share my own story with you, and plus I hope to help provide you solutions to some of your problems as well. Since I know how it is to be forced to live on a small selection of food choices, I find this problem to be very important for me to solve. We need to join together and put pressure on the government to provide assistance for our children with special diet needs, and why I ask are there no programs available to help people like you and me?

food bank
Excellence is the gradual result of always striving to do better

Food Bank

I am very happy that we do have people who care enough in this country to provide assistance to families, but these people who are dedicated can’t do it alone any longer. More of us need to do more to help our neighbors, you can find ways even if you are not living with a big bank account. So, please consider what I have shared with you in this article, and I pray some of you have been motivated to take that first step to put others before yourself. Volunteering is an awesome way to help in your community, but right now I understand many of you just are not able to do that with the COVID virus. Maybe you can sit down and just think of very simple ways you can help a family struggling in your own neighborhood, you know providing them a nice meal or a casserole dish is not so difficult for some of you to do. Whatever works for you is what you should do, so listen to your heart and stop thinking so much with your brain might be the best solution you will find in this article today?

Gluten Free Turkey Soup Recipes-After Thanksgiving Leftovers Ideas

Many families are sadly wasteful in the United States, so today I am going to be writing an article with gluten free turkey soup recipes for after Thanksgiving. When I was a boy my mother would aways create some new tasty meals with our leftover turkey, and one of the easiest and healthiest meals is soups this time of the year. Another thing I like to do is add it to my salads for a change, I usually add chicken or steak so this is something new I seldom do any other time of the year.

After Thanksgiving Leftover Tips

Many people have the fear of food poisoning by eating leftover holiday meals, but with this guide, you can stay safe and yet not waste food. There are children and families who have no idea where their next meal is coming from, and yet the people in the USA are throwing away food regularly. So if fear is the reason for this, you now can learn food safety tips from this article, and let us see how we can be safe without wasting valuable food.

  • You should freeze your leftovers within 3 days, but I will freeze mine as soon as possible when I know I will not be using them right away.
  • Even though you can be sure your frozen leftovers will be safe for almost forever, you are best to use them within 3 months for their best flavor.
  • Never refreeze more than one time, and the way I am sure to not waste any food is to freeze them in small individual portions.
  • Labeling is something I have learned to be very valuable for me, I often prepare a full slow cooker of my favorite soup, and then freeze it. Simply by using masking tape and a waterproof marker, you can label as you freeze your leftovers, and this works great for gluten free turkey soup recipes.
  • I prefer freezer bags myself, but you also can use containers. Being a single person this allows me to store more, and every time I cook I prepare a super big batch.

So these are some tips that I use myself to store my own food for another day, and I purposely prepare my slow cooker full as I possibly can with the intention of freezing the extra for another day.

Gluten Free Recipes Turkey Chili-High Protein Low Fat

Higher protein and lower fat are what you get with gluten free recipes turkey chili, and this is a great choice for families on a tight budget as well. I remember growing up as a boy my mother always preparing this on cold winter days, but she used beef in those days instead of turkey. So let us see what are the benefits?

Which Is Better Turkey Or Beef?

Before I start sharing with you the facts between these two meat sources, I am curious why is there such a competition between these two and not chicken? At one time the medical professionals were pushing chicken at us constantly, and now all of a sudden this ugly looking bird has taken the place. Now they are claiming turkey is your best choice of protein from the meat you eat, so now the once-popular chicken is not heard about nearly as much as it used to. So this is what Live Strong has to say, and I will start by sharing their first tip in their article Which is Better for You Ground Turkey or Ground Beef?

Tip

Both of these protein sources have many similarities in saturated fat and sodium content. But, fat-free versions of ground turkey provide a very lean source of protein. So if you are searching for a high-protein plus a low-fat choice, I can see that beef is not our best choice if we are watching our fat content.

Gluten-Free Dairy-Free Turkey Recipes

So if you are trying to lose a few pounds, you are going to find this is a better option. You also will find this is a heart-healthy diet recommendation, and if you are working towards either of these health benefits this is something important for you to consider.

Saturated Fat Facts

We have been hearing for a very long time now about saturated fat, so let us see what the American Heart Association has to say? I always try to get my information from reliable sources, and I am sure you would agree the American Heart Association is a resource we can trust with our hearts? Below are some examples this organization shares in their article on saturated fat, so let us see what examples they share with us?

  • Lard
  • Cream
  • Butter

They also provide a reminder to limit the following in moderation, and here is what is on their list.

I Hope The Tips From The American Heart Association Is Helpful

Before I go on to the next paragraph I want to share a tip of my own with you, and my tip is fruit is a great choice for a healthy snack. You also should be aware of the high sugar content from this food group, and eat it in small portions as snacks and in moderation. My own dietician told me many people struggling to lose weight often is from overeating too much fruit, so many of us have been given the idea we can gorge on this food group without gaining weight.

Best Gluten-Free Turkey Chili Recipes

I prepare my own meals in my slow cooker, so I can just add all my ingredients and allow the slow cooker to prepare my meals for me. I just want you all to know cooking is not one of my talents, but the reason I am writing this type of article is for Thanksgiving. A Christian Prayer of Gratitude

Thank you, Lord, for the blessings you have bestowed on my life. You have provided me with more than I could ever have imagined. You have surrounded me with people who always look out for me. You have given me family and friends who bless me every day with kind words and actions. They lift me up in ways that keep my eyes focused on you and make my spirit soar.

Also, thank you, Lord, for keeping me safe. You protect me from those things that seem to haunt others. You help me make better choices and provide me with advisors to help me with life’s difficult decisions. You speak to me in so many ways so that I always know you are here.

And Lord, I am so grateful for keeping those around me safe and loved. I hope that you provide me with the ability and sense to show them every day how much they matter. I hope that you give me the ability to give to them the same kindness they have provided to me.

I am extremely grateful for all of your blessings in my life, Lord. I pray that you remind me of just how blessed I am and that you never allow me to forget to show my gratitude in prayer and returned acts of kindness.

Thank you, Lord.

In your name,

Amen.

This prayer was provided by the website Learn Religion, and I confessed to all of you I am not a religious person. I do read and follow God’s word from the bible, but I feel you don’t have to be religious to be one of God’s children.

Safety Tips During The COVID

The following tips were provided by the website Today, and the following are recommended by the CDC. So you are hearing it from the experts on how to remain safe this Thanksgiving holiday, and if this has been something you appreciate me sharing feel free to leave me a comment?

  • Keep your Thanksgiving dinner small with your immediate family is highly recommended by the CDC.
  • Providing dinners to neighbors and friends should be done without facing them in person.
  • Shopping online rather than at your local stores for Black Friday is very important.
  • Watching football games at home with just your family, and avoid game day parties.
  • For dinners with more than just your household consider an outdoor dinner instead of indoors, but know this is more of a risk than the tips above.
  • Remember social distancing, wearing your mask, hand sanitizers whenever you must go out.

The following above are low-risk and moderate-risk activities for the coming holiday, and now we are going to see what the CDC has to share for high-risk activities?

  • Shopping in your local stores is extremely high-risk, and this is especially true for Walmart and shopping malls.
  • Spectator events should be seriously considered, but if you do attend wear your masks at all times to remain as safe as possible and practice social distancing if you can.
  • Parades are extremely high-risk and should be avoided if possible, you would be best to watch the parades from home.
  • Alcohol and drugs lower your immune system and should be avoided. If you do drink you should do so in moderation, you need to keep your immune system as strong as possible at this time.

I have heard the Macy’s Thanksgiving Parade is going to be virtual this year, so watching from the comfort of your home is your best strategy to remain safe.

Gluten Free Dairy Free Turkey Recipes-Gluten And Dairy Specials

Since I had to make dramatic changes to my diet years ago I am feeling healthier, and so I know how people feel that are living on special diets during the holidays. Today’s article is going to be focusing on gluten free dairy free turkey recipes for the Thanksgiving holiday, and if this interests you please leave a comment telling me so.

When Food Is Making You Sick

One of the biggest challenges in my life was to change my diet, and even though I was eating healthy the majority of the time, I was still feeling extremely ill. When the food you are putting into your body is known to be healthy, you will find it extremely confusing why you are feeling so bad? So all my life I was experiencing low energy and digestive problems, but everything I read and my doctor told me I was doing. When your food is making you sick what can you do, and what turned my life around was going on an elimination diet.

Gluten-Free Dairy-Free Ground Turkey Recipes

My Basic Diet Plan

Today I thought possibly sharing my own basic diet plan just might help some of you, and I will admit at first this is very difficult for most of us to do. You are going to experience cravings for those foods that are making you sick, but if you hang in there for approximately a few weeks your cravings will become less and less of a problem for you. So let us look at my own basic diet plan, and you are going to find this includes the foods that are naturally gluten and dairy-free.

  • The main ingredient in all my meals is meat, and if you have any autoimmune diseases as I do, you want to focus more on the natural grass-fed meats as much as possible.
  • Turkey and chicken are your best choices for high-protein, and they are much easier on your pocketbook as well. You will find grass-fed beef is quite an expensive investment for a family, but turkey and chicken are affordable for the majority of families.
  • Other protein choices are eggs, fish, pork as other good sources as long as you are not allergic to eggs which is a possibility you need to be aware of.

With food allergies and intolerances you also need to be careful with any of your processed foods and reading food labels is a must to be sure you are not accidentally putting gluten or dairy into your body. now that you understand protein better, let us see what else is included in my basic diet plan.

Time To Listen To Your Mama

The next food group you want to be eating are your veggies, I guess mothers do know best since almost all of them tell their children to eat your vegetables. Lucky for me, I don’t mind eating the majority of them, but I must admit, if I was not adding creative recipes to make them tastier, I would have trouble eating them regularly.

  • Salads are my main way to get both my protein and vegetables during the warm summer months, I usually use turkey or chicken most often, but I have also added pork as well.
  • I find preparing them in soups and stews in the winter months in my slow cooker works the best, I can just throw some mixed vegetables with some form of protein and let my slow cooker do its thing.
  • You might find this odd, but the frozen mixed vegetables are healthier for you than the fresh ones I have read. It is not only healthier but also a time-saver plus saves you money all at the same time.
  • If you have an autoimmune disease you might find some vegetables are not good choices as well, I am not able to eat regular potatoes, peppers of any kind, and also tomatoes, and eggplant. So this is where the elimination diet test comes in handy, you can find out if any of these might be triggers for your own symptoms.

Now you are starting I hope to get the idea of my own basic diet plan, so next, we will look to see what else you can eat that is gluten and dairy-free.

Tips To Celebrate Thanksgiving With Food Allergies

My Next Food Group In My Basic Diet Plan

If you love fruit as much as I do this food group is naturally another good choice, you still need to read the food labels if you are buying vegetables and fruit in packages or cans. Your best choices again are frozen or fresh, but canned is a good choice as long as you read the labels to be sure they are safe.

  • Fruit salads are one of my favorite ways to eat a variety of this food group, and another easy way is to add them to your gluten-free oatmeal or cereal. These are easy to eat on the go and make great healthy snacks, and as long as you read the labels you know they are a good choice.
  • You also are able to freeze your favorite fruit when in season, so you can’t go wrong with adding this to your basic diet plan.
  • Even most people with autoimmune disease are able to eat fruit, but some people might need to watch out for citrus. Some folks experience problems with the acid, so this is just something to consider when eating your favorite fruit.

This is my basic meal plan that I can be sure to experience no symptoms, and by searching for gluten free dairy free turkey recipes you can have a nice Thanksgiving without feeling like you are giving up your holiday meal.

What About Snacks

Snacks are an important part of every diet plan, and many of you might find it a challenge to find snacks that fit into your new diet plan? So let us look at some that are good choices next, and remember again you must read the labels to be sure they are safe.

  • Nuts and seeds are good choices as long as you don’t have an allergy or intolerance to them, and these are very high-risk for people with certain autoimmune diseases. You will usually know within 20-30 minutes after eating these if they are not a good choice for you, but if you take the elimination test you will know for sure.
  • Popcorn is another good choice, but you will have to go without butter. I can tell you from my own experience popcorn without butter tastes very much like you are eating cardboard, so you might not be satisfied with this for a tasty snack.
  • Fruit of any kind in any form is a great choice, and again I love to make smoothies for my healthy snacks.
  • Vegetables are a good choice if you are someone who can snack on them and enjoy them, but for many of us, they just don’t satisfy our cravings.

Those are the natural snack choices for you to consider, so now I am going to go a step farther by sharing some processed snacks you are able to have. Remember these processed products should always be eaten in moderation, so feel free to check out what your best choices are in the next paragraph.

Thanksgiving Recipes For Children With Allergies

Recommended Processed Snack Options

Even I eat many of these from time to time in moderation, and the reason I do this is I am very sensitive to grains. I even find eating gluten-free grains a problem for me, but this could possibly be from my autoimmune disease?

  • KIND
  • Nut-Thins
  • Bunny Fruit
  • Dark Chocolate with Almonds Endangered Species
  • Crunch Dried Snacks

So these are the favorites that I have from time to time, so you can check this out next time you are out shopping for your snacks. Read the ingredients carefully before you purchase them, I have found you just never know when a brand might change their ingredients. Be patient or skip ahead if you are getting anxious for the gluten free dairy free turkey recipes, I promise they are not so far away now.

Best Gluten Free Turkey Meatball Recipes-Holiday Tips And Recipes

Living with food allergies and intolerances is a brand new life, and many of us don’t realize this until it hits us. So this article will be focusing on holiday tips, and also the best gluten free turkey meatball recipes.

Tips To Celebrate Thanksgiving With Food Allergies

Holiday Stress Tips

It is no surprise the holidays provide stress for many people, and who more than the people who are planning and preparing the family Thanksgiving meal? When I was a boy I never realized or appreciated my mother and grandmother, but now that I am grown up I am aware of how much work they put into making everything just right. I can remember them starting early in the morning, and in fact, it was still dark outside when I started to hear the rattling of pots and pans. So be very grateful to whoever is doing the cooking this year, and appreciate them properly by telling them so.

Tips For Thanksgiving

I am sharing the tips with you from the website Mayo Clinic, so you can be sure you can trust this information. I often use this website for my own health issues, and I do recommend you do the same when you need to. Before I share the following with you, I chose the best gluten free turkey meatball recipes because this would be a great dish for kids. So you might want to consider adding this to your menu if you have children in the family, and I am positive they will love having this as a surprise dish just for them.

  • Be honest with your family how you are feeling, I know the majority of mothers and grandmothers take on this responsibility without even complaining. By sharing your feelings you also can enjoy Thanksgiving more, and you m right be surprised that your family will be more than happy to give you a helping hand?
  • If you are living alone as I am you might be feeling a bit lonely this time of the year, and this could be especially true this year more than any other with the COVID virus.  Volunteering if there are any opportunities is a very good strategy, and if not, you could just do something nice for some of your neighbors for the holiday.
  • Emails and online chatting might be how you must spend this year with family living far in distance. Again with the virus many of us will not be traveling this year, and this might be a very lonely time for us?
  • Every family has certain members who get on our nerves, but we must do our best to ignore them and try to enjoy the time together anyway.  Remember many people are stressed out more now than ever, so there may be some short fuses and negativity from some family members.
  • It is important to stick to your budget as much as you possibly can, and some families might have a smaller spending budget this year than other years. Never feel embarrassed to ask family members to bring a dish when they arrive, and the whole point of this day is to be grateful for what we do have and spend it with friends and family.
  • Donate to a charity that will help other families that are less fortunate than you, I find when I am feeling blue doing something for others perks up my mood.
  • Thanksgiving is a good time to start thinking about making home-made gifts for Christmas, so if you have any hobbies use them to give gifts this year if your spending budget is limited.
  • If things are extremely tough this year consider family exchanges for Christmas, and remember it is not the gift that is what is important but the idea you are doing something for someone you love and care about.
  • Organizing can make such a difference when it comes to stress, so planning out what you need to do is another important tip from the Mayo Clinic. I like to do a little each day when preparing for a big project, I find this keeps me busy without overwhelming me so maybe this is something you could try?
  • The most difficult word for mothers and grandmothers to tell their family is NO, but even you have your limits and must do what is best for you to stay calm and enjoy the holidays as well.
  • Many people neglect taking care of themselves as well, but this is a time when you need to take even better care of yourself with so much to do.
  • Focus on healthy snacks instead of too many of the goodies loaded with sugar and sodium, you will find this will do wonders for feeling less stressed. Vegetables and dips are a good choice, you will be putting natural anti-inflammatories into your body that is good for your immune system.
  • Never put sleep on the back burner, and you will find with proper sleep you will have more energy and be feeling less anxiety and stress with so many things to get done.
  • Be sure to take time to go for a walk or even a little yoga each day, you might be surprised how much a short walk or yoga workout will do for your energy and anxiety levels.
  • I find playing music really improves my mood during stressful times, and holiday music is always a good choice to keep yourself in a good mood.

I have added some of the things that work for me as well as the Mayo Clinic’s holiday tips in their article, so you can read their entire article with the link in this paragraph.

Use Your Energy From Your Anxiety And Stress To Accomplish Your Goals

First Turkey Meatball Recipe

For my first recipe today I am going to be sharing from the website Flippin Delicious, and this is one of the better sites to visit when it comes to preparing for the Thanksgiving holiday.

What You Need

  •    Ground turkey
  •    Gluten-free breadcrumbs
  •    An egg  If you have an egg allergy, you can leave it out and add about 2 extra tablespoons of milk. Your mixture will be more delicate,
  •  I use unsweetened plain coconut milk or almond milk, but you can also use dairy milk or another unsweetened plain milk substitute.
  • Garlic powder
  • Onion powder is easily evenly distributed throughout the turkey meatball mixture
  • Parsley
  • Rosemary
  • Salt
  • Pepper

I would like to add when you eat out and order turkey balls that are not usually gluten-free, and the reason for this is most restaurants are going to be adding gluten breadcrumbs. So this is something to consider when you dine out, I just thought this was important to share with you.

How To Prepare Your Meatballs

You will basically mix all the ingredients above together, and the recipe did not provide how much of each of these ingredients to add. You will want your mixture to be sticking together yet moist, and as for the spices, I would use them sparingly if this is your first time using them in a recipe. I prepare pretty much all my meals in my slow cooker, but you can bake them in your oven and even freeze them to use later. Flippin Delicious provides a lot of interesting information in this article, and I do recommend you use the link provided to learn more about the best gluten free turkey meatball recipes.

Thanksgiving Prayer For Families

Many of us don’t officially give thanks with a prayer before our meals all the time, but for this holiday most families will thank the Lord for the food on their table. So if you are looking for a short prayer, I have one for you that I hope you share.

God, we thank you for the blessing and joy of family. Thank you for those who are gathered with us today and those who are far away. May we all see the many ways you provide for us, comfort us, and protect us. Bless this food to make us healthy and strong.

Amen

I am sharing this prayer from the article 20 Thanksgiving Prayers & Family Blessings of Gratitude, so you can use the link to this article for more prayer ideas if you desire to.

Prayer Of Thanks

O, heavenly Father: We thank thee for food and remember the hungry. We thank thee for health and remember the sick. We thank thee for friends and remember the friendless. We thank thee for freedom and remember the enslaved. May these remembrances stir us to service, that thy gifts to us may be used for others.

Amen.

Thanksgiving Recipes For Children With Allergies-Allergy Food List Guide

Are you in search of Thanksgiving recipes for children with allergies, and if so this guide is the perfect article for you? I would like to begin this article with an allergy food list, so let us see what is on this list below?

  • Gluten
  • Dairy
  • Eggs
  • Fish
  • Milk
  • Peanuts
  • Shellfish
  • Soy
  • Tree nuts

These are the most common allergens to watch out for, and these are known for 90% of allergies from food. Being I am sensitive and intolerant to more than most people, I know how difficult it can be to provide a balanced diet to your children.

Thanksgiving Food Allergies

High-Risk Allergy Food List

Thanks to Dr. Sears I am able to provide you the high-risk allergy food list, so let us see what are on the doctor’s list?

  • Berries
  • Buckwheat
  • Chocolate
  • Cinnamon
  • Citrus Fruits
  • Coconut
  • Corn
  • Dairy
  • Eggwhites
  • Mustard
  • Nuts
  • Peas
  • Peanut Butter
  • Pork
  • Shellfish
  • Soy
  • Sugar
  • Tomatoes
  • Wheat
  • Barley
  • Rye
  • Yeast

I am surprised at some of the ones on this list, how about you? I never would consider berries as being high-risk for allergy symptoms, so this has been a great asset for me as well as for any parents reading this article.

thanksgiving recipes for children with allergies
From my own experience, I can tell you food allergies can ruin your Thanksgiving

Safest Allergy-Friendly Food List

Now many of you might be wondering as I am, so what are we supposed to feed our children? I really do struggle myself finding new things to add to my own diet, so I know how anyone feels that suffer from allergies. Let us see what the doctor prescribes for the safest on the list, and hopefully, we can find some tasty alternatives?

  • Apples
  • Apricots
  • Asparagus
  • Avocados
  • Beets
  • Broccoli
  • Carrots
  • Cauliflower
  • Chicken
  • Cranberries
  • Dates
  • Honey
  • Lamb
  • Grapes
  • Lettuce
  • Mangoes
  • Peaches
  • Pears
  • Raisins
  • Rice
  • Salmon
  • Squash
  • Sweet Potatoes
  • Turkey
  • Veal

Now reading this list the first thing that comes to my mind is what do we feed our children, I don’t really see many choices on this list that will appeal to most kids? Maybe you are not familiar with the symptoms of eating high-risk allergy foods, so let us look next at what to watch out for?

Food Allergy Symptoms In Kids

I feel it is very important for parents to understand what to look for, I suffered most of my life as a boy clear up to my 30’s. Until I started losing weight and constant stomach pain, I was not aware it was from the ingredients in some of my meals. So below is a list for you to be aware of, and this hopefully will help your child start to feel better real soon?

  • Tummy pain is a sure sign your child could be experiencing symptoms of allergies from food, and now let us see what other symptoms could be signs?
  • Vomiting
  • Diarrhea
  • Cramps
  • Hives
  • Swelling
  • Eczema
  • Lip Swelling
  • Swollen Tongue and mouth
  • Dry Eyes, and Mouth
  • Itchy throat
  • Wheezing
  • Even Lower Blood Pressure

This information I received from an article on the website Hopkins Medicine, and I am sure most of you will agree this is a good resource we can trust for reliable information? They also share that even a very small amount may cause serious and dangerous issues for your child, and if ever in doubt never take chances take your boy or girl to the emergency room right away. If more than one or two of these symptoms are regularly affecting your child, you should consult your physician right away.

thanksgiving recipes for children with allergies
The first step is to know what foods could be causing your symptoms

Food Allergy Or Food Intolerance?

I am kind of an expert on both of these, but not by any degree in the health field. Sometimes the best experts are those who are living day after day for years with specific problems, and I suffer from both of these issues daily since the day I was born. You will never receive any medical recommendations from me, but you will learn from my own experiences that may help your child to feel healthier. Digestive issues are one of the main health problems we are experiencing today, and just look at how many of you might be taking anti-acids or other over-the-counter digestive products regularly? So many of you might not be aware of the difference between an allergy and intolerance, but I am going to provide you what I know. First below is the list of the most common intolerances you may experience, so I hope this helps you to get started on the right track.

  • The number one culprit for more of us these days is a plant protein by the name of gluten, and from my own issues, I suggest if your child is experiencing digestive issues this would be where I would start.
  • Fructose, fructans, and polyols are often the next possibility to consider, you will find these in products such as honey and syrups.
  • The yolks and the whites of eggs are another common intolerance, and for some, it might be mild and others it can be severe.
  • Bakers yeast is the last one on my list for you in this article, so these are the ones I would consult your physician about first if your child is experiencing regular digestive issues.

I am unlucky enough to be intolerant to all of the above, but I find gluten is my most severe intolerance of the list above. If I happen to get any hidden gluten in something I eat, I will know it within 20 minutes or less after eating that product. Reading product labels is a must to manage food intolerances and allergies.

Guten-Free Products At Amazon

You might find like I am that you can’t purchase all your gluten-free needs in your local grocery stores, so you must order some of them online. Amazon seems to be the most affordable place I have found. but if you know of a better choice please leave me a comment, I would really like to know. I am on a fixed-income so every penny I can save counts, and I really would appreciate you commenting if you can help me. Allergy-Friendly Stuffing Recipe

Since stuffing is what I had missed the most on this holiday for years, I thought this would be a good place to start with Thanksgiving recipes for children with allergies. This was provided by the website Kids With Allergies, and you might like to know this is a division of the Asthma and Allergy Foundation of America. So this is another good resource I recommend.

If your child loves stuffing but has been doing without because he or she is gluten intolerant, you now have two recipes to choose from to give them stuffing once again. You also have the option I use being a single guy living alone, I go with Stove Top gluten-free stuffing mix for my Thanksgiving meal.

What About Dessert?

Another thing that I really miss is the holiday desserts, and I always was a big pie eater on Thanksgiving day. So I thought since many of the deserts are not allergy-friendly, I would share some tempting recipes in this paragraph. Read on to be tempted with what I have shared with you below, and I hope some of these inspire you to give them a try this year.

  • This carrot cake is soy and dairy-free, you might find this interesting many people allergic to dairy also can’t have soy. This I found on the blog by the name of Dairy and Soy Free Mom, so if this interests you, I provided a link above.
  • Gluten, dairy, and corn-free cinnamon rolls, I have bookmarked this one since I have not had a cinnamon roll in many years. I really do have a weakness for baked goods, but I seldom have them since many of the gluten-free products just don’t taste the same.
  • Peanut and tree nut-free cookies are our next choice on the list, and these are supposed to be a big hit with children. So this might be a cookie recipe you want to consider, so let us see what is next?
  • How many children love peanut butter cookies, but if you happen to be intolerant to gluten this might not have been available. Here is a gluten-free peanut butter cookie you can try, but be sure your child does not have an allergy to peanuts.
  • Egg-free Rolo cake mix bars, I am not familiar with these myself, but if you wish to check them out here is a link to the Cookies and Cups website.
  • This one is one I am not going to be able to resist, I have not had a taste of pumpkin pie for a very long time. This one is allergy-friendly, so I for sure am going to bookmark this one as well.
  • I can remember my grandmother always preparing no-bake cookies on the holidays, but her recipe has ingredients that I am not able to digest. So here is a recipe you might want to check out, and you can find this one on the website The Freak Food Gourmet.

So here are the desserts that caught my eye on the article 10 Allergy-Free Holiday Desserts, and you will find a few Christmas goodies as well if you visit the website.

Prayers For This Special Holiday

Before I conclude this article on Thanksgiving recipes for children with allergies I want to share some prayers, and I do hope you find some of these appealing to you to possibly use for your own family on the special holiday this year?

“This Thanksgiving, let those of us who have much and those who have little gather at the welcoming table of the Lord. At this blessed feast, may rich and poor alike remember that we are called to serve on another and to walk together in God’s gracious world. With thankful hearts, we praise our God who likes a loving parent denies us no good thing.”

Cecilia A. Moore, C. Vanessa White, and Paul M. Marshall

“O God, when I have food, help me to remember the hungry. When I have work, help me to remember the jobless. When I have a home, help me to remember those who have no home at all. When I am without pain, help me to remember those who suffer. And remembering, help me to destroy my complacency, bestir my compassion, and be concerned enough to help, by word and deed, those who cry out for what we take for granted. Amen.”

Samuel F. Pugh

“Shout for joy to the Lord, all the earth. Worship the Lord with gladness; come before Him with joyful songs. Know that the Lord is God. It is He who has made us, and not we ourselves; we are His people and the sheep of His pasture. Enter into His gates with thanksgiving, and into His courts with praise. Be thankful to Him and bless His name. For the Lord is good; His mercy is everlasting, And His truth endures to all generations.”

Psalm 100

“Thank You, God, for this food. For rest and home. And all things good. For wind and rain and sun above. But most of all those we love. Amen.”

Thanksgiving Recipes For Children With Allergies

As someone who struggled to enjoy the holidays ever since a child, I know how allergies and intolerances can ruin your holiday. I really believe more families need to understand how severe these can affect their child’s life, you don’t want your little boy or girl to go through what I did as a child. Even today this time of the year is difficult for me, you see the temptation of our favorite foods we can’t have will never go away.
